White-Label vs Turnkey vs Custom: Which Sweepstakes Casino Platform Is Right for You?
Three ways to get your casino built, and the questions that decide which one fits.
October 18, 2026 · LaunchSweeps
Every sweepstakes casino runs on a platform. The real decision is whether you rent one, buy one ready to go, or build your own. The labels get used loosely, so here is what each one actually means.
Custom build
You hire developers and build everything: the player app, the coin system, payments, rewards and the back office. You own every line of code and every decision.
Good for: large, well-funded operators with a very specific idea. The catch: it often costs far more and takes far longer than planned, and you carry the maintenance forever.
Turnkey
A vendor gives you a complete platform and usually helps with setup, while you keep your own licences, provider accounts and player data. Customisation is possible, but you work inside the vendor's product.
Good for: operators who want control of their business relationships without building software.
White-label
You launch under your own brand on a platform that is already running. The vendor hosts it, updates it and supports it. It is the fastest and lowest-cost way to get live.
Good for: new brands, and existing gaming businesses moving online. The catch: on many white-label platforms every brand looks the same, and you share the vendor's roadmap.
The questions that actually decide it
- Who owns the players and the data? Get this in writing.
- Whose payment and games accounts are they? Yours is safer if you ever switch.
- What does it cost after launch? A monthly fee, a revenue share, or both?
- Can it look like your brand, not everyone else's? Players notice when ten casinos share one lobby.
- What happens when something breaks at 2am on a Saturday? Ask for response times in the contract.
- Can you test it before you sign? A real demo account tells you more than any sales deck.
Our take
For most new operators, white-label is the right start: you go live fast, spend your budget on players instead of developers, and learn what your market wants. The one thing worth insisting on is a look that is genuinely yours, because that is what players remember.
